For those who use Windows 7 and have compatibility issue with Windows XP based application or devices, there is “Windows XP mode for Windows 7”, the current version is beta, but it’s worth to try.

The “Windows XP mode for Windows 7” act like virtualization app, but have integration on application, devices and folder with your windows 7. You can call your Windows XP application directly from your windows 7.

My Windows 7 current problem is to connect to my HP LaserJet 1022 in the network, hope this “Windows XP mode for Windows 7” will work.

[update 1 July 2009]

I try installing the application, it appears as “.vhd” file, and can not be open. So I google it and found out that before using the “Windows XP mode for Windows 7” you must install Windows Virtual PC. But it also said you need CPU with the Intel™ Virtualization Technology or AMD-V® feature turned on. Despite the warning I install the Virtual PC and found out that my intel does not support Virtualization Technology, Sigh.
